A beautiful day with 7,000 good friends... DR Jonz had the close-up angle covered HERE with some great shots.
Tax-Blaster Phil Krinke at the TaxPayer's League booth For your pleasureInge on Brass
Here's a blast from the past. I created this pro-US forces shirt back in 2003 when Freedom Dogs was just getting going. This guy remembered me as giving him the shirt free if he would wear it outside his coat. Hell, he's still wearing it. I decided to take a walk down to the Global Warming village. I ended up in the arctic or antarctic or both? This global warming koolaid drinker gets high marks in my book for creativity and puppet engineering. Ya gotta love a polar bear safe enough to pose with.
Guyd Dog, Chief, Lassie & Diamond Dog Arrrgh. Where's me tax cuts? FreeRepublicans add percussion to the event. Diamond Dog Update: I've been suffering from a scratchy
throat, sneezing, body aches and a runny nose since last Monday.
Another way of explaining my affliction is to say that I have a cold.
So I was unsure if I should go to this event today or just stay home
and nurse myself. But what the heck! After all, don't they say feed a
fever, rally a cold? If today's weather were nasty and windy and nippy
out AND I had a cold, I suppose it would have been wise to stay home.
But at 10:15 this morning I made the firm decision that dammit, I'm
a-goin'. So I strapped on my boots, chugged on down to McDonald's for a
Breakfast Burrito and hopped the Number 17 bus for downtown
Minneapolis. At the transfer point on 6th Street and Nicollet I spied
another gentleman with a tax protest sign. So we introduced ourselves
and I learned his name is Roger. It just so happened that a young woman
was also riding that bus as she was a tree-hugger going to the Sierra
Club rally. Just then along comes Alan Shilepsky. The three of
us had a good conversation about how the DFL is out of control, wanting
to tax everything that moves. Some tree-huggers couldn't help but hear
our banter. One of them turned around, holding up his nature book to
tell Alan that he should read it. Alan, not missing a beat, asked the
tree-hugger if he knew that the temperature on Mars is rising just like
Earth. Tree-hugger didn't have any retort. He just kept his mouth shut
and moved to the other end of the bus. They hate it when we know our
facts. That reminds me...It was Ronald Reagan who said,
"Republicans believe every day is the 4th of July. Democrats believe every day is April 15th."
We
had a grand time out there letting our legislature know how we feel
about tax increases. And I think the warm sun helped burn out my cold.
CHIEF BACK: Update from othersAndy, He has video, capturing that really tough moment when Chair Carey was answered with less than positive responce when mentioning Norm Coleman. Really amazing, I was there, the audio was not edited. He also has video of the whole rally if you have time to load it here And some good Pix here at high res. Eckernet.com was also there. UPDATE: ANDY has the summary post here including sorting through the videos.
